(TAN): Kenya has become the first country to be awarded the recommended status of the “Safer Tourism Seal” by Rebuilding Travel.
Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife Najib Balala was presented with the award in an online event. Rebuilding Tourism is a global pro-tourism group comprising members of tourism boards, tourism ministers, industry stakeholders, academics and travellers.
“As a destination, we have put together health and safety measures that are aimed at ensuring the safe reopening of the tourism sector. This is to ensure that our citizens, travellers, and workers are well protected,” said Balala.

The Safer Travel Seal will help build travellers’ confidence in Kenya as a tourism destination as the sector reopens.
The Safer Tourism Seal recognition will be up for renewal in 2022 if the destination will have then met the “tourism safety” requirements.
