MakeMyTrip partners with Archaeological Survey of India for online bookings of heritage sites

Delhi (TAN): Indian online travel booking company MakeMyTrip has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for online reservations of 116 historical sites and monuments across the country.

According to reports, the agreement involves listing and offering online booking gateway to famed monuments under ASI such as the Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Red Fort, Khajuraho Temple, Char Minar, and Golconda Fort, among others.

Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer Deep Kalra said although India has a lot to offer in terms of its cultural heritage, it is a long way before its richness can be shown to the world.

“This partnership will help make it convenient for travellers to plan and book their visit to these heritage monuments online,” he was quoted by media reports as saying.

The collaboration between ASI and MakeMyTrip is reportedly an effort between travel stakeholders to effectively endorse India’s heritage tourism.

Kalra added: “It will provide world-class e-ticket booking service to help travellers plan in advance and eliminate the hassle of standing in long queues, saving time and effort by booking online through our platform.”
