New Delhi (TAN): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will appear in British wilderness survival show ‘Man vs Wild’, presented by British adventurer Bear Grylls at 2100 hours Monday night, Indian time.

The programme will be aired in 180 countries.

Grylls revealed in a recent interview that since PM Modi is a vegetarian, he will not be seen eating insects or animals. The adventurer added there are a wide variety of herbs, berries and fruits that can be eaten and it wasn’t necessary for one to eat insects or animals to survive.

“For years, I have lived among nature, in the mountains and the forests. These years have a lasting impact on my life. So when I was asked about a special programme focussing on life beyond politics and that too in the midst of nature I was both intrigued and inclined to take part in it,” Prime Minister Modi was quoted by Discovery Channel as saying.

He added: “For me, this show presents a great opportunity to showcase to the world India’s rich environmental heritage and stress on the importance of environment conservation and living in harmony with nature. It was a great experience spending time in the jungle once again, this time with Bear, who is blessed with indefatigable energy and quest to experience nature at its purest.”

The Prime Minister reportedly shot for the episode with Grylls in the tiger reserve in Dhikala, Uttarakhand on February 14 this year.
