Frankfurt (TAN): Natalia Fileva, the co-owner of Russia’s S7 Airlines, was killed when a private jet she was in crashed in Germany, media reports said.
The incident happened earlier this week when the single-engine Epic LT aircraft that had departed Cannes in France went down and caught fire while approaching the airport at Egelsbach near Frankfurt.

The six-seater aircraft reportedly had two passengers- Fileva and a pilot – both of whom were reported dead.
Any further information on the cause of the crash has not been issued. Russian and international authorities are investigating the crash.
Natalia Fileva, 55, one of Russia’s richest women, was a co-owner of a conglomerate behind S7 Airlines, and the major shareholder in the company. She had wealth valued at USD 600 million.
“The S7 Group holding team expresses deepest condolences to the family and significant others,” S7 Group was quoted by media reports as saying.

S7 Airlines, also known as Siberian Airlines, consists of a fleet of 96 aircraft that fly to destinations in Europe, Asia, and the Commonwealth of Independent States, the company’s website said. It is also a member of the Oneworld Global Aviation Alliance, according to which S7 serves 150 odd destinations across 35 countries. It is the main competitor in Russia to Aeroflot.
Meanwhile, two people were killed when their vehicle collided with a police car rushing to the site of the crash, media reports said. The three police officers in the police vehicle were seriously injured.
