(TAN): Amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, New York City’s Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park has opened its doors from October 30 taking place through March 7, 2021, said park authorities in a statement.

While visitors can enjoy the same bespoke holiday shops, delicious food, and winter activities, the Winter Village will also be taking into account new rules regarding public safety in the wake of the pandemic.

Visitors will now need to make online reservations, wear face masks and fewer skaters will be allowed on the rink. The park has been frequently sanitising the skating areas between timed sessions. Rental equipment is also being sanitised.

At The Rink, the city’s only free-admission skating rink, activities are held entirely outdoors. The Lodge Deck will also be outside as well. It is a place where visitors can enjoy a cocktail and food while watching the skaters over the rink.

One of the best things about the Winter Village is perusing the holiday shops. While it is usually a very crowded area, this year the village layout has been reconfigured to create more spacious walkways to avoid congestion, in addition to sanitization and face mask requirements.

Although the nineteenth season for the Winter Village at Bryant Park is both a modified and socially distant one, vendors remain optimistic for some successful, upcoming holiday weeks.

A current vendor informed the media that only 30% of the village’s usual retail footprint is operating this year in a capacity reduction effort – one of many changes deemed necessary for a successful run.

In an effort to help other small businesses during these challenging times, Bank of America is reportedly featuring four city-based, minority-owned small businesses in a rent-free stall at the park this year.
