(TAN): Many of us are waiting impatiently to get on a plane. The pandemic has ruined our vacation plans, but all hope is not lost! You can still spend the night in an actual plane. And it’s nothing complicated — you can just book your stay on Airbnb!

From a retired United Nations aircraft in Bogotá, to a Vietnam-era Bristol Freighter Plane in New Zealand, these aircrafts listed on Airbnb are ready to welcome guests

Here are the details of five planes and two helicopters you can spend the night in:

1. St. Michel Chef Chef, France

If a one-of-a-kind stay with a sense of humour is what you seek, this grounded jet’s cockpit-turned-bathroom will surely not disappoint. A short drive from several beaches, this quirky abode provides guests with a warm shower, full plush bed and outdoor terrace to enjoy the scenery.

2. Redberth, UK

With a spacious bedroom, plenty of seating and the original cockpit intact, guests get a sense of the high life in this former private jet. Guests can even cook a meal in the outdoor kitchen, or explore the large farmhouse and surrounding unique stays on the property.

3. Barjac, France

This Cessna plane is parked on a raised garden and comes complete with breakfast, fresh sheets and unlimited access to the grounds’ swimming pool. Situated next to the plane’s original control tower — which has additional guest space — this aircraft can accommodate up to six people.

4. Waitomo, New Zealand

The Bristol Freighter Plane requires a climb into the cockpit. What also makes this place one-of-a-kind are the neighbours — several farm animals that also call this property home.

5. Preston, UK

Escape to Northern England and hop on this 1982 Westland Lynx XZ676 chopper for a serene, out-of-the-ordinary getaway. This converted helicopter, which sleeps two adults and two children, comes complete with a kitchen sink, mini fridge and microwave, plinth heater, LED TV and fancy LED lighting. A playground and a lake are in the vicinity.

6. Bogotá, Colombia

Immersed in the forest and situated near the Chingaza National Park, this retired UN aircraft is a nature lodge with guest access to safari tours — offering something for both wildlife and history lovers. Guests will feel as if they are stepping back in time when they board, but modern amenities are available, including a mounted television and fully equipped grill.

7. Kessingland, UK

Aviation fanatics will be intrigued by this stay – this transformed ex-Army Air Corps Lynx AH9A Helicopter shares a fascinating history after being in active service all around the world. It also featured in the Fast and Furious Hobbs and Shaw movie.
