Mexican city gets its first Holiday Inn Express & Suites from InterContinental Hotels Group

Playa del Carmen (TAN): United Kingdom-based hotel giant InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has inaugurated a new property here under its Holiday Inn Express & Suites brand.

With the launch of the new hotel, Holiday Inn Express & Suites made its entrance into the popular tourist destination in Mayan Riviera.

“We are thrilled to introduce the Holiday Inn Express & Suites brand into Playa del Carmen, strengthening our presence in one of the preferred travel spots in the Mayan Riviera,” said Gerardo Murray, Regional Vice President, brands and marketing, Mexico, Latin America and Caribbean, IHG.

“This hotel is a significant addition to our portfolio in Mexico, offering guests the brand’s renowned innovative hospitality experience, connectivity and friendly service,” he added.

The property, franchised by an affiliate of IHG, is owned by Litore Maya S. A. de C.V. and managed by Marca Hotel Solutions, S.A. de C.V.

Located in the centre of the city’s downtown and a short walk from the beach, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Playa del Carmen is a 91-room hotel of which 34 are standard rooms and the rest are suites.

The hotel also has a rooftop pool, a fitness centre, business and event spaces, and a complimentary parking lot.

The complimentary Express StartBreakfast bar dishes out breakfast items, egg and meat selections, beverages, along with a regional fare.

Playa del Carmen’s Holiday Inn Express & Suites is close to sought-after sites including the archeological zone of Tulum the natural parks of Xel-Ha, Xcaret and Xplor that offer snorkeling, diving, swimming, hiking and climbing options. The island of Cozumel is just 20 minutes away from the hotel by ferry.

The hotel participates in IHG Rewards Club as well as IHG Green Engage which offers programmes to ensure sustainability.
