(TAN): TheRadisson RED brand has marked its entry into Eastern Europe with the inauguration of its first hotel in the region — Radisson RED Tbilisi. Nestled in a century-old former post office building along the iconic Davit Aghmashenebeli Avenue in Tbilisi, Georgia, the hotel harmoniously merges historical significance, contemporary aesthetics, and a delectable culinary journey.
The Radisson RED Tbilisi finds its abode within a historic post office structure dating back to the 1920s. Adorned with striking wrought iron balconies and sleek, modern windows, the building exudes an imposing aura. Its strategic location close to numerous cultural landmarks positions it as an ideal haven for guests eager to immerse themselves in the local culture.
The 111-room, four-storey establishment offers a diverse range of accommodations, from standard rooms to junior suites, all designed with Radisson RED’s distinctive focus on innovative solutions. Fostering a connection with the city’s creative and cultural scene, the hotel showcases artwork by a local artist inspired by Tbilisi’s history, traditional Georgian Shushabandi balconies, and a courtyard designed to reflect the city’s unique architectural style.
Central to the hotel’s charm is the ground-floor gem – Posta Restaurant & Bar. The eatery, led by Tina Vashakidze, an esteemed educator at the Georgian Culinary Academy, beckons guests and locals alike. Posta serves as both a culinary haven and a social nexus, where individuals gather to indulge in a fusion of Georgian, Asian, and international flavors. The restaurant’s courtyard provides an al fresco dining experience, allowing patrons to relish their meals amidst the vibrant surroundings.
Antoine Moubarak, regional director for Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan & Eastern Europe at Radisson Hotel Group, expressed the seamless alignment between the Radisson RED brand and Tbilisi’s dynamic ambiance. “The historic former post office building has undergone an incredible renovation to combine original and modern vibes,” Moubarak said.
