The design, led by Tara Bernerd & Partners, emphasizes Mexican heritage and the original Mayan architecture. The hotel exudes a hacienda-style ambience with handwoven textiles, traditional tiles, and Yucatan doors. The pools have been redesigned with vibrant turquoise Sukabumi tiles, mirroring natural cenotes. The accommodation units include beachfront suites with private pools, two-bedroom villas, and the 3,939-square-foot Villa Maroma, with four bedrooms, a full kitchen, bar, spacious outdoor terrace, chaise lounges, and a private pool.

Maroma Spa by Guerlain, the first Spa by Guerlain in Latin America, offers nature-focused treatments. Rituals include the Bee Healing Ritual and sound therapy. The spa hosts workshops and houses an apothecary for herbal therapies.

Maroma’s immersion into Mayan culture includes bike rides, culinary experiences, and starlit stargazing. The hotel supports local initiatives and collaborates with Fundación Selva Maya and Guerlain for Melipona bee conservation. It’s an EarthCheck member, contributing to endemic biodiversity. The on-site nursery aids native plant conservation, and the resort actively protects endangered bird species and sea turtles.
