(TAN): The iconic Rambagh Palace, Jaipur, one of the most recognisable Taj hotels in the country, has captured the top position among the best hotels in India. Alongside, it also came out 15th in the Best Hotels in the World categories of the prestigious global Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2020.
Rambagh Palace, set on 47 acres and often referred to as the ‘Jewel of Jaipur’ was originally built in 1835. It was the home of the queen’s favourite handmaiden and then became a royal guesthouse and hunting lodge.
In 1925, Rambagh Palace became the permanent residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur. In the finest tradition of Rajput hospitality, Rambagh Palace offers its guests a taste of royal living.

Seven other Taj hotels across six categories have also been recognized in the awards this year. While the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Goa features in the Best Resorts in the World category and the Top 30 Resorts in Asia, The Pierre, A Taj Hotel made it to the Top Hotels in New York City category.
The global Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards are presented annually on the basis of votes from readers of the magazine for the best that the travel world has to offer.
