(TAN): In a strategic initiative to get along with the ‘new normal’, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) has decided to live-stream the national parks of Sri Lanka, showcasing the exotic wildlife and the natural habitat of the country.

SLTPB will collaborate with the private sector to deploy technology in driving the initiative. The National Parks that will be covered in the live streaming include Yala, Minneriya, Kaudulla and Udawalawa. They will focus on leopards, bears, elephants , crocodiles, birds, wildlife scenery and the spectacular behaviour and movements of  the astounding variety of birds and mammals.

The project is expected to expand to eight wildlife streaming video sessions of one hour each. These live streaming sessions will be telecast through social media platforms such as, youtube, instagram, twitter and facebook.

The SLTPB hopes that the initiative will contribute positively to the local industry, especially the wildlife service providers to capitalize in a post-covid scenario. The live-streaming will create digital footage of wildlife that can be deployed by the local tourism fraternity to keep in touch, to connect and to promote Sri Lanka as a destination.
