New Delhi (TAN): India-based budget airline SpiceJet will launch its business class service on select domestic routes from tomorrow, thus transitioning to a hybrid model from a low-cost one.
The airline’s business class product SpiceBiz will offer the service with the few Boeing 737-800 aircraft that it acquired from the recently grounded Jet Airways.
Passengers will be able to avail SpiceBiz on flights out of cities such as Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

SpiceJet is charging way less for its business class seats compared to its competitors, reports said.
The airline will also provide higher baggage allowance, priority boarding and luggage access, dedicated check-in counters and complimentary lounge access at select airports, and meals and beverages.
Business class travellers will be allowed 30 kilograms for check-in and 10 kilograms for cabin luggage.
While SpiceJet will have lounges and check-in counters at Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Varanasi, Jaipur, Guwahati, and Kochi airports now, it has plans to open lounges at other airports too.
The Boeing 737s that SpiceJet bought from Jet Airways were swiftly renovated, with changes in the interiors as well as the livery. The airline, which wasted no time in buying the de-registered planes, has also employed at least 500 ex-employees of Jet Airways, reports said.
The number is expected to go up if speculations of the airline expanding its international business become a reality.
