Denver, US (TAN): A teenager was airlifted from Rocky Mountain National Park in the United States after taking a sliding fall near Long Peaks.
The 15-year-old boy from Colorado state’s Boulder fell 300 to 400 feet in the Loft area between Mount Meeker and Longs Peak, a steep terrain covered with snow, water and rock.

He suffered several injuries, the national park said. The search and rescue team found the boy and provided him advanced medical care until a Colorado National Guard helicopter from Buckley Air Force base flew in to extract him from the area.
The teen was taken to Upper Beaver Meadows, and subsequently flown to Children’s Hospital in a Flight for Life air ambulance.
Rocky Mountain Rescue Group of Boulder County helped with lifting the boy into the helicopter, the national park said.

Rocky Mountain National Park, located in northern Colorado, spans the Continental Divide. Long Peak, which can be reached through the Keyhole Route, constitutes the park’s tallest mountain.
