US: Uber’s e-scooter JUMP arrives in Nashville, company offers free rides for 15 minutes

Nashville (TAN): Ride-sharing company Uber has introduced electric scooters ‘JUMP’ to Nashville in United States’ Tennessee state earlier this week, media reports said.

The e-scooters can be reserved directly through the Uber app, or by walking up to an available scooter. While using the app, users can tap the ‘mode switch’ at the top of home screen and select the scooter option. The app will then show available scooters, and when users walk up to one of them, they can scan the QR code on the handlebar to unlock it.

To celebrate its arrival in Music City, Uber is offering is offering free 15 minutes ride on JUMP scooters until March 11 this year. During the offer period, riders can avail the scooters for 15 minutes for free up to five times a day.

After the initial 15 minutes, rides in e-scooters will cost users USD 0.15 a minute.

Riders can collect helmets from Uber’s Greenlight Hub in the city.

Uber has already launched e-scooters in several cities, including Austin in Texas state, and Los Angeles in California.

Uber became the fourth company after Lyft, Bird, and Lime to operate their e-scooters accessible through cellphone apps in Nashville, after shared electric scooters became popular among tourists and commuters alike.
