(TAN): A 22-year-old tourist from Uzbekistan fell to his death after allegedly ignoring warning signs against taking selfies at a waterfall in Thailand, media reports said. The incident took place at the Ngao Waterfall National Park in Ranong province in southern Thailand.
Soipov Abdullokh was with a group of Russian friends when the accident took place.
The tourist is believed to have ignored warning signs not to stand at the top of the waterfalls in the national park. Onlookers said Abdullokh was almost 15 metres above ground level and trying to take a picture when he lost his footing and slipped on the wet surface of the rocks. The fall of around 50 feet resulted in a deep cut on his head, which proved fatal.

Emergency services later discovered the body among sharp rocks at the bottom of the waterfall. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene and his body was taken to the Ranong Hospital for a post-mortem.
Chalit Sinrojthanakorn, head government officer for the national park, said, “The deceased walked off the path set out by authorities to climb the waterfall. He then slipped on a rock and fell. His body crashed against the rocks below and he was bleeding through the mouth and nose.”
Reports also cited the park ranger as saying that the tourist had “violated” a ban on climbing the waterfall because he “wanted to take pictures” .
