Bangkok (TAN): A 25-year-old Canadian tourist fell to his death when his zip line cable snapped at Chiang Mai in northern Thailand, media reports said.

The man, who was with a group of friends and his girlfriend, fell more than a hundred metres into a creek. The cable apparently gave away soon after he was released.

Police said they were conducting an autopsy and also checking whether the zip line operating company at the Flight of the Gibbon attraction followed maximum weight guidelines.
