Bangladesh: Tourist drowns at Nafakhum in Bandarban

At least 10 people have died in various accidents at Nafakhum in the past seven years.

(TAN): Local authorities on October 4 fished out the body of a missing tourist from a canal in Nafakhum, a tourist spot in Bangladesh’s Bandarban district, reports said. 

According to Dhaka Tribune, the dead tourist has been identified as Kazi Zakarul Islam Kanan, 35, from Dhaka.

A group of 13 tourists were swimming at the Romacri canal the previous day when the accident took place, the report said, adding that police said a post-mortem would be conducted on the body before it is handed over to the family.
