Perth (TAN): The Government of Western Australia has launched a guide to help Muslim tourists plan a vacation in the state.

Unveiled by Minister of Tourism Paul Papalia in Malaysia, the guide promotes Western Australia as a ‘Muslim-friendly travel destination’. Apart from highlighting the tourist attractions in the state, the guide shares information about halal food and location of mosques.

Papalia said: “Malaysia is an important market for Western Australia and this guide will help make our Muslim visitors feel welcome by connecting them with the information they need to plan a great holiday in our State, perhaps with family or friends.”

“Perth also has an incredible events calendar on offer, including a series of high-profile sporting events for football and tennis fans such as the Manchester United matches in July or Fed Cup in November as well as celebrations of local produce like Truffle Kerfuffle, held in Australia’s South-West. Growing tourism is key to the State Government’s plan to diversify the economy, create jobs and develop business opportunities,” he added.

The guide also endorses Western Australia as the ‘Road Trip State’, with short day trips such as the Swan Valley and Perth Hills as well as longer trips such as Perth to Kalbarri. The Pinnacles, Jurien Bay Marine Park and Hutt Lagoon constitute some of the other options.

“A road trip means visitors can experience the appeal of our vastly different regions, from the excitement of transformed Perth’s vibrant night life and dining options, to the golden sands and unique formations of the Pinnacles or the natural beauty of Hutt Lagoon,” he added.
