(TAN): After Australia and Ireland, Switzerland’s tourism board has launched a video to encourage visitors to keep the dream of travel alive in times of COVID-19.

Switzerland Tourism released a video message on its social media platform, urging travellers to “Dream now, travel later”.

While the Swiss Alps may be out of bounds owing to the pandemic that has spread across the world and compelled countries to impose restrictions on travel, the Swiss tourism board rolled out the short video to keep the hope of travel afloat in travellers, with the hashtag #DreamNowTravelLater. The film is also aimed at spreading optimism and giving prospective tourists something to look forward to after the crisis is over.

The video asks people to “stay safe – stay home” until the storm has passed, after which the country will be open again “to welcome you back soon”. Meanwhile, it will “inspire” potential visitors all over the world with a montage of Swiss landscapes and people.

Tourism Ireland recently launched a new online video to remind potential visitors of the beauty of the land, and invite them to “dream of future holidays and adventures” in Ireland after the coronavirus-related calamity is over.

The 50-second film, named “I will return” takes tourists on a tour of famous Irish landscapes and the Irish countryside that are virtually untouched, while sharing a message of hope for the future of Irish tourism – it features a poem that promises better times ahead and reminds viewers of Ireland’s resilience.

Ireland’s second largest city, Cork, unveiled a similar video with #PureCorkAwaits to remind visitors that the joys of travelling to Cork will still await them in post-COVID times. But for the time being, they should better stay indoors.

Tourism Australia released a new video, “With Love From Aus”, to share a message of positivity with visitors. Part of the “Come Alive Our Philausophy” campaign, the video shows people staying connected virtually with Australia’s wildlife, landscapes and nature in general. Holidaymakers are reminded through the film the country will still welcome them after the crisis has ended, until which they should remain indoors and daydream about the destinations they plan on visiting.
