(TAN): Tourism Ireland has rolled out a new online video to remind potential visitors of the beauty of the land, and invite them to “dream of future holidays and adventures” in Ireland after the COVID-19 related crisis is over.

The film, named “I will return” takes tourists on a tour of famous Irish landscapes and the Irish countryside that are virtually untouched, while sharing a message of hope for the future of Irish tourism – it features a poem that promises better times ahead and reminds viewers of Ireland’s resilience.

Chief Executive Officer of Tourism Ireland, Niall Gibbons said the video will act as an inspiration for upcoming travellers that Ireland will wait for the pandemic to subside to “fill their hearts” with wonder.

“Our online film ‘I will return’ allows us to keep the beauty of the island of Ireland to the fore. While we may not be able to travel just now, this film will inspire people for their future visit – reminding viewers that the island of Ireland will be waiting to ‘fill their hearts’ with its beauty and warmth and until then, they can dream of future adventures,” Gibbons said.

In the video that lasts for 50 seconds, the narrator begins by saying “I will return into her arms” to “feel the earth beneath my feet, the warmth against my face” and be welcomed into Ireland’s “kind embrace”.

But since he is also aware of the present circumstances, the narrator will wait to visit Ireland till the storm has passed – he is sure the island will overcome the crisis because “these green lands have weathered tougher storms”. Until then, the “the wandering lanes, and rugged cliffs, her fields laced with streams, will still be there after I awake, but for now they’re in my dreams”, he adds.

Other tourism boards have also launched inspirational videos to motivate future travel and spread messages of optimism.

Ireland’s second largest city, Cork recently unveiled a similar video with #PureCorkAwaits to remind visitors that the joys of travelling to Cork will still await them in post-COVID times. But for the time being, they should better stay indoors.

Tourism Australia released a new video, “With Love From Aus”, to share a message of positivity with visitors. Part of the “Come Alive Our Philausophy” campaign, the video shows people staying connected virtually with Australia’s wildlife, landscapes and nature in general. Holidaymakers are reminded through the film the country will still welcome them after the crisis is over, until which they should remain indoors and daydream about the destinations they plan on visiting.
