Montreal (TAN): Air Canada will partner with a series of Francophone festivals across the country to celebrate French – one of Canada’s two official languages.

Two of these major festivals are scheduled for this month. While the Festival franco ontarien or Franco Ontarian Festival in Canada’s capital Ottawa on the East Coast will run until June 15, the Festival d’été francophone de Vancouver will take place on the West Coast between June 12 and 23.

The airline will set up a kiosk at Major Hill’s Park in Ottawa on June 15, and a street booth promoting Air Canada careers and international francophone destinations in Vancouver. The carrier will also sponsor the closing show that will feature singer-songwriter Diane Tell in Vancouver on June 23.

Senior Vice President, People, Culture and Communications and Champion of Official Languages at Air Canada, Arielle Meloul-Wechsler said: “As Canada’s largest private-sector customer-facing company offering bilingual services in Canada and around the world, we proudly support events that highlight Canada’s unique culture and our two official languages.”

She added: “Stretching from coast to coast, the Franco festivals showcase French Canadian culture through music, arts and language.”
