Air Canada to resume India flights

Toronto (TAN): Air Canada will restart its daily, nonstop flights from Toronto to Delhi, India from October 1, after Pakistan reopened its airspace. While the eastbound flights resume on October 1, the airline’s westbound flights to the Indian capital begin October 3.

The flights will initially be operated with Air Canada’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners. However, the carrier will introduce 400-seat Boeing 777-300ER aircraft from October 27 to add extra capacity to the route.

“We are very pleased to resume our daily, non-stop Toronto-Delhi flights in time for Diwali celebrations, and with additional capacity going forward to meet expected demand,” Vice President, Network Planning at Air Canada, Mark Galardo said.

Air Canada will resume flight from Vancouver, Canada to Delhi on August 1. The airline will be back with its seasonal flights from Toronto to Mumbai, India starting from October 27. The four times a week flight will be served by Air Canada’s Boeing 777-200LR aircraft until March 28, 2020.

“With our Delhi flights returning to normal together with our seasonal return to Mumbai for fall firmly demonstrating our long term commitment to this vibrant market, we look forward to operating our full schedule to India,” Galardo said.

“The resumption of Air Canada’s direct flights is a most welcome development. At a time of increasing commercial activity between Canada and India, Air Canada’s direct flights represent a very important element in connecting the business communities in both countries as well as the growing number of tourists, students, families and cargo traffic,” Kasi Rao, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canada-India Business Council said.

According to the schedule, flight AC 42 will depart Toronto daily at 2210 hours to reach Delhi at 2135 hours. The return flight AC 43 will take off from Delhi daily at 0010 hours to land in Toronto at 0505 hours.

Flight AC 44 will leave Vancouver daily at 0115 hours, landing in Delhi at 0350 hours, while the return flight AC 45 will depart Delhi daily at 0555 hours, reaching Vancouver at 0730 hours.

Flight AC 46 will take off from Toronto on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 2045 hours, to reach Mumbai at 2210 hours. The return flight AC 46 will depart Mumbai on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 2345 hours, landing in Toronto at 0525 hours. All hours are in local time.
