Sepang (TAN): Malaysia-based carrier AirAsia has introduced noise-cancelling headphones to premium flatbed cabins of all scheduled AirAsia X Malaysia (D7) flights that lasts over five hours.
The airline has partnered with Japan-based electronics company Sony to offer the new WH-1000XM3 noise-cancelling headphones that come with adaptive sound control. The sound control technology can sense and adjust to the aircraft environment to deliver a better experience.
“Following customer feedback and the successful trial of the noise cancelling headphones on our Kuala Lumpur-Tokyo route, we are delighted to extend and introduce this new partnership with Sony,” said Barry Klipp, Group Head of Ancillary at AirAsia.

“Our Premium Flatbed is award-winning, and the best value premium product in the sky. We are thrilled to once again raise the bar to provide an even better premium cabin experience,” he added.
Satoru Arai, Sony Malaysia Managing Director said, “We are delighted to deliver our Sony WH-1000XM3 wireless noise-cancelling headphones to all AirAsia Premium Flatbed guests, which will take the inflight experience to the next level with Sony’s innovative QN1 processor and deliver a great audio experience 35,000 feet above the ground.”
AirAsia is offering special all-in fares on premium flatbed starting at MYR 799 including taxes and fees to celebrate the launch.
The deal is valid for booking until March 24, 2019, and for travel until August 31, 2019.

The offer is applicable on flights from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Jeju in South Korea, Tianjin in China, Taipei in Taiwan, Fukuoka in Japan, Perth in Australia, among others.
Apart from the noise-cancelling headphones, premium flatbed passengers will be offered facilities including priority check-in, priority boarding, priority baggage, access to AirAsia’s premium Red Lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2, among several others.
AirAsia and Sony have introduced a special Airbus A330 livery to honour the introduction of the noise cancelling headphones.
