Wellington (TAN): A British tourist family faces a deportation notice after being accused of littering, theft and threatening local residents, Fox News said.

The family apparently left a hotel room in Wellington strewn with Red Bull cans, noodles and cigarette butts smelling of poo. The report quoted a cleaner as saying that the staff took hours to clean it.

“It was really messy, and it smelt like kids’ poo,” the cleaner told Daily Mail.

“I had to open all the windows, and I told to my boss to leave them open as well as the door, so it could air out,” she said. “I had to scrub the floor.”

The family had rented another room that is reportedly missing a wine glass and cutlery.

There are also allegations of them leaving garbage on a beach and leaving a cafe without paying.

Speaking to the Kiwi news outlet Newshub, a member of the family said: “We are a respectable family, we are a British family who have come here, as a Commonwealth country, to see New Zealand, to see the Hobbits and see the mountains.”

“The way we have been treated, intimidated, we are scared to leave, we are scared to move, we are hiding at the moment. We don’t know what to do,” he added.
