Environment Minister Stephen Dawson said: “Camping in Western Australia’s natural areas is a special experience, and Karijini National Park is one of the State’s most spectacular national attractions. The online booking system will be beneficial to visitors who can now avoid the disappointment of travelling to the Dales Campground only to be turned away if it is fully booked.”
“Until now, the campground has had a ‘first in best dressed’ policy so it is great to see that visitors can now plan ahead and prepare before making the journey to Karijini National Park,” he added.
Western Australia’s second largest park, Karijini National Park with its ancient geological formations, rough topography and several recreational options, attracted over 350,000 tourists in 2017-18.
Dales Campground, located close to Circular Pool and Fern Pool recreational sites, offers individual sites fit for large tents, caravans, campervans and camper trailers. The sites feature facilities such as barbecues, picnic tables and toilets. The campground, accessible by regular two-wheel drive cars, overlooks Fortescue Falls and Dales Gorge.
