Miami (TAN): United States-based Carnival Cruise Line recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of the company’s year-round cruising from the Port of Baltimore in Maryland state.
The year-round cruise from the port, launched in 2009, has sailed with over one million guests in the past decade, the company said.
The ‘Decade of Fun’ festivities took place aboard Carnival Pride at the port of Baltimore. Carnival President Christine Duffy received a maritime international clock from Baltimore-based Cruise Maryland’s General Manager Cynthia Burman, while she presented Burman with a ship’s bell during the celebrations.
Duffy said: “Baltimore is an important part of our homeport deployment strategy and the port has been a great partner for the past 10 years. Our cruises from Baltimore on board Carnival Pride continuously earn high marks from guests who appreciate the ease of sailing from this convenient and centrally located port.”
Guests can opt for a variety of trips on Carnival Pride, including week-long voyages to tropical ports throughout the Bahamas and Bermuda, and 14-day Carnival Journeys cruises to Caribbean destinations. The ship features 700 balcony staterooms, a water park with huge water slide Green Thunder, Caribbean-inspired RedFrog Pub, Asian restaurant Bonsai Sushi, and Guy’s Burger Joint.
The Baltimore port serves a crucial role in Carnival’s ship deployment strategy, with the company placing ships close to large population bases along the East and West Coasts of the United States, and the Gulf of Mexico.
