Known for its cultural heritage, historic charm, and palm-fringed beaches, Penang is located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia and referred to as “The Pearl of the Orient”. At its heart is George Town, Penang Island’s cosmopolitan urban center, lined with timeworn shophouses of the UNESCO World Heritage zone and traditional places of worship such as Chinese and Indian temples, mosques, juxtaposed with Western-style skyscrapers and shopping complexes.
Courtyard by Marriott Penang features rooms and suites designed to be smart and spacious, boasting 360° unobstructed views of George Town and the Straits of Malacca. Each room is fitted with thoughtful amenities and comes with high technology equipment and an ergonomic work area, ideal for business or leisure travelers. The public spaces are inviting and flexible to stimulate ideas, and a Business Centre in the lobby provides guests with everything they need to move forward.

The hotel offers a signature dining venue as well as a bar that serves up a vast selection of drinks. Penang Kitchen, the hotel’s lively and chic all-day dining restaurant, features a medley of mouthwatering creations inspired by the unique blend of local cultures – Malay, Nyonya, Chinese, Indian — and international cuisines with signature dishes such as Penang Laksa, Chef Ismail’s Chicken Rendang with Ginger Flower, Ox Tail Soup, Lamb Shank Biryani in Claypot, and more.
Gin Library, slated to open in the last quarter of 2020, is the island’s first and only distillery-themed bar. Reimagined in the Anglo-Indian style, the bar’s design is inspired by the island’s unique heritage and style, featuring an eclectic mix of contemporary furniture with local elements and warm timber tones. True to the British colonial days, Gin Library will be serving a collection of gin and malt whiskey spirits and hand-crafted cocktails.
