W Chengdu opens doors to guests

The Living Room at W Chengdu is a place to mingle over cocktails and bites.

(TAN): W Hotels Worldwide, part of Marriott International, has opened W Chengdu to guests. Owned by KWG Group Holdings, W Chengdu is situated within Chengdu’s Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

Chengdu is famous for its fiery Sichuan cuisine drawing in food lovers from around the world. It is a vital hub for world commerce and home to more than 200 Fortune 500 companies.

Henry Lee, president, Greater China, Marriott International said, “Chengdu is breaking the mould of tradition and reinventing itself at every corner, making it a perfect fit for our newest W hotel in China. The opening of W Chengdu marks an exciting milestone for Marriott International’s portfolio of luxury brands to expand further into this part of the country, and W Chengdu is poised to become the social centre of this exhilarating city.”

The hotel lobby features an interactive LED virtual waterfall, artwork depicting Sichuan Opera actors, Chengdu’s mascot, the giant panda, and a series of stone-like artworks. It offers 297 guest rooms and suites with bright interiors. The Extreme WOW Suite (the brand’s presidential suite) features 368 square meters of flexible space with a bar and lounge area. W Chengdu serves a variety of venues with two restaurants and two bars, a space that serves as a playground and a venue for party and a “living room”, which is a space to mingle over cocktails and bites.

Jennie Toh, vice president, brand, Asia Pacific, Marriott International, said, “With game-changing style and amplified entertainment and innovative culinary offerings, W Chengdu will inject a fresh vibe into the local hospitality scene and offer the most sought-after luxury getaway for locals as well as global jet-setters.”

Guests can treat themselves to a treatment at AWAY Spa, offering three treatment rooms for experiences incorporating beauty brands like Biologique Recherche, Comfort Zone and I Plus Q. W Chengdu offers a gym which includes a spacious 115sqm Pilates studio and indoor swimming pool and Jacuzzi, which features a 270° LCD feature wall.

W Chengdu offers more than 2,600sqm of flexible meeting spaces spanning over two floors. The Great Room features a 1,200sqm pillar-less space perfect for memorable meetings, weddings and special events.
