(TAN): Crystal Symphony, the second ship in the Crystal fleet to recommence operations following Crystal Serenity’s recent return, has successfully completed its sea trials. The vessel, currently undergoing final refurbishment at the Fincantieri shipyard in Trieste, Italy, is set to begin its inaugural cruise from Athens, Greece, on September 1, the cruise company said.

With a full complement of officers, technicians, and engineers on board, the ship underwent comprehensive testing of its navigation, technical, and mechanical systems – all of which met the required standards. Importantly, the ship’s fire-resistant panels were also certified and found to be free of defects, ensuring safety for passengers and crew.

Roberto Fazi, SVP of marine operations, expressed excitement about the upcoming relaunch, saying, “The completion of sea trials for Crystal Symphony marks another milestone on our journey to resume operations. The swift relaunch of both Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony stands as a testament to the dedication of our teams and partners who have worked tirelessly to achieve this.”

Crystal Symphony’s relaunch promises enhancements for passengers. Upon boarding, guests will find updated and more spacious suites with artisanal finishes. Specialty dining venues have also undergone refreshing changes, including the introduction of Osteria d’Ovidio, a restaurant honouring Crystal’s executive chairman, Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio, and his family’s Northern Italian heritage.

The vessel features advanced onboard wellness offerings, exemplified by the fully renovated and renamed Aurōra Spa. Passengers can also enjoy new recreational amenities, including a pickleball court, providing ample active pursuits. The ship’s entertainment and events have been refreshed to offer a renewed and engaging experience for all on board.

Following its inaugural cruise from Athens, Crystal Symphony will spend the summer cruising European waters before journeying to Africa in October. The ship’s global itinerary continues with voyages scheduled in Australia and Asia, offering passengers a varied range of travel experiences.

A&K Travel Group’s acquisition of the Crystal brand and its two distinguished vessels, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, in 2022 sets the stage for promising future voyages under the Crystal banner.
