Dubai (TAN): Emirates will operate its newest Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with fully-enclosed first-class suites between Dubai and Kuwait from June 1, 2019.
The airline already deployed the aircraft on the Dubai-Riyadh route starting yesterday.
Emirates expects the first-class suites, which it called ‘game-changing’, to offer more flying options to travellers.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will be the first countries in the Middle East and GCC to be served by the latest Emirates Boeing 777 aircraft featuring fully-enclosed private suites inspired by luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz,” said Emirates’ Senior Vice President Commercial Operations Gulf, Middle East and Iran, Adil Al Ghaith.

“Deploying the newest Boeing 777 to both Riyadh and Kuwait will cater to the significant premium demand we see on these routes, and is in line with our commitment to provide our customers across all classes with outstanding service and industry-leading onboard products for a better flying experience. The unique First Class suites onboard the Boeing 777 will offer our premium passengers unparalleled privacy, comfort and luxury, with experiences tailored to their individual needs,” he added.
Emirates’ newest 777 aircraft is fitted with ergonomically designed seats, and floor-to-ceiling sliding doors.
The six fully-enclosed private suites, laid out in a 1-1-1 configuration, provide up to 40 square feet of personal space each. The seats recline into a fully flat-bed that can be changed into several positions, and put in a NASA technology-inspired zero gravity state to induce a feeling of weightlessness up in the air.
Passengers seated in the middle aisle suites will be able to experience virtual windows, which, according to Emirates are ‘the industry’s first’. These windows ‘project a view from outside the aircraft using real time fibre-optic camera technology’. Also, the airline will offer binoculars for exploring the views.
Emirates will also introduce ‘an innovative video call function’ for guests to communicate with the cabin crew from their suites. They will also be able to select a light colour and adjust the temperature of their suites.
