Brisbane (TAN): American hospitality company Hilton will complete 100 years of serving the hotel industry today. However, celebrations had already begun with Hilton Brisbane recently planting one hundred trees to commemorate the anniversary.
Members of the staff gathered at Lambertia Close Park in Mt Gravatt East to plant trees and thereby participate in Brisbane City Council’s current project to revive vegetation and wildlife native to the region.

Hilton President and Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Nassetta, said: “Conrad Hilton charted an ambitious course for Hilton in 1919, and I think he’d be proud of what we’ve accomplished so far. In my view, the world’s a better place because Hilton was born 100 years ago, and if we do our job right, the world will be a better place because Hilton’s in it for the next 100 years.”
Celebrations through tree planting is in keeping with the company’s ‘Travel with Purpose’ outlook promoting sustainable travel. Hilton is focused on doubling its “social and community investment and cutting its environmental footprint in half by 2030”, it said.
