Panjim (TAN): Popular travel blogger Rachel Jones, who ran the blog Hippie In Heels, has passed away.

Jones, who was a US citizen but stayed in south India’s coastal state Goa for five years, was a well-known name in the industry. Her blog served as an informative guide to many international tourists coming to India.

It is not clear yet how or where she died. A Sunday post on the Hippie in Heels Facebook Page attributed to her family members Ben, Jeff, Carla and Travis said: “It’s with great sadness that we’re writing to let you know that Rachel has passed away. As we hope you will appreciate, it’s come as a huge shock to all of us.” Ben was Rachel’s partner.

The post says the family intends to keep the blog going.

“Hippie in Heels started out through Rachel’s love of travelling and joy of sharing her experiences with you all. Every morning Ben would wake up to find Rachel tapping away at her laptop, keen to share her latest thoughts on a new trip, or a restaurant she loved. It’s in this spirit and knowing it would be Rachel’s strong wish, as it is our own, for Hippie in Heels to keep going in her memory,” it says.

  1. I am following her blog since last 4 years. I started reading her blog from those days when I started my own blogging journey. She was a true inspiration for many travellers. I commented on her blog several times. She replied to me also. But today she is no more. SIMPLY CAN’T BELIEVE!! She was a free soul, now free forever!!!
It is really sad news. Yesterday I noticed this news on Facebook.
