Jakarta (TAN): Mount Tangkuban Parahu, an active volcano popular with tourists in Bandung, West Java, reopened for tourists on Thursday following an eruption on July 28.

“Today (Thursday), the area reopened to visitors at around 7:30 am,” Kompas.com quoted Heru Hidayat from PT Graha Rani Putra Persana (GRPP), which manages the Mount Tangkuban Parahu Natural Tourism Park, as saying.

“(The area) is now clean. Since the eruption, the situation has actually been normal, but the ash prevented us from opening the park,” he added.

The volcano has nine craters. The eruption last week sent volcanic ash 200 meters into the sky.
