Taj opens new hotel in Tirupati, India

Tirupati, India (TAN): The Indian Hotels Company’s (IHCL) luxury brand Taj has announced the opening of a new property in Tirupati, in India’s Andhra Pradesh state.

“IHCL has been a pioneer in the religious tourism segment in the country and is delighted to announce the opening of Taj in Tirupati; one of the largest pilgrimage destinations attracting millions of devotees annually. This opening reaffirms our commitment to offer travellers a flavor of India’s rich cultural heritage in world-class settings,” Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL, said.

Taj Tirupati is located close to the Tirumala Hills, home to the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple. It features 106 rooms and suites, restaurants and bar, event spaces and a pool.

Taj was honoured in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards 2019, with seven Taj hotels finding a place across five categories.
