Radisson Hotel Group to source all its eggs from cage-free sources by 2025

Chicago (TAN): American hospitality company Radisson Hotel Group said it will source exclusively cage-free eggs for all its properties by 2025.

The company will also announce the pledge in crucial native languages and include it in its annual reports.

Inge Huijbrechts, Global Senior Vice President, Responsible Business at Radisson Hotel Group said they were committed to bringing about this change.

“The switch to cage-free egg supplies will require time and investment, but we will work closely with our suppliers and hotel owners to drive meaningful progress,” she added.

Amy Odene, Global Corporate Relations Co-ordinator at the United States-based nonprofit The Humane League said they were ‘delighted’ to know about Radisson Hotel Group’s commitment to sourcing 100% cage-free eggs.

“This commitment will benefit the lives of hens throughout their global supply chain and confirms that, for Radisson Hotel Group, the welfare of animals raised for food is a high priority,” she added.

The decision came after the company’s ‘successful implementation’ of its improved Supplier Code of Conduct in 2018 which bettered the standards with its suppliers ‘in terms of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption standards’, Radisson Hotel Group said.
