Christchurch (TAN): Tourism New Zealand will resume promotional activities next week. The government-funded body had stopped running ads in the wake of the terror attack here on March 15 that killed 50 people.
According to the New Zealand Herald, the global advertising campaigns will resume on April 8.

The country’s NZD 45 million tourism promotion budget is mainly spent on online campaigns on Facebook and YouTube. However, these were stopped following the attack to not have tourism advertisements popping up along with news stories on the Christchurch attack.
“New Zealand’s response to the attacks demonstrated what is unique and special about New Zealand – our people and our lives,” the report quoted Tourism New Zealand chief executive Stephen England-Hall as saying.

England-Hall said the March 15 attack did not have a significant impact on the tourism sector but the tourism organisation continues to assess the number of visitors.
The Jacinda Ardern government of New Zealand was widely praised for the sensitive way in which it handled the deadliest terrorist attack in the country.
