Salt Lake City, US (TAN): A nine-year-old girl was injured after a bison charged her in the United States’ Yellowstone National Park earlier this week.
The girl from Odessa in Florida state was part of a group of 50 odd people that were visiting the national park. The incident took place near Observation Point Trail in the Old Faithful Geyser area where the group was assembled within five to ten feet of the bull bison for at least 20 minutes before it charged the group.

The girl was charged and tossed into the air by the animal. Her family took her to the Old Faithful Lodge for treatment, and subsequently to the Old Faithful Clinic, from where she was later released.
No citations have been issued, and the incident is still under investigation, the national park said.
Park officials asked visitors to stay 25 yards away from all large animals, including bison, elk, bighorn sheep, deer, moose, and coyotes, and at least 100 yards away from bears and wolves.
