Atlanta (TAN): American carrier Delta Air Lines has recently inaugurated multiple trans-Atlantic flights to European cities that include Edinburgh in Scotland and Lisbon, Portugal from Boston, Massachusetts, and Amsterdam in the Netherlands, from Tampa, Florida.

While the airline strengthened its network in Boston with new nonstop services to the Scottish and Portuguese capitals, Delta debuted its first trans-Atlantic route from Tampa with the flight to the Dutch capital.
Passengers onboard the maiden flight were offered Scottish and American signage and snacks in Edinburgh and Boston, respectively. Delta’s Senior Vice President – Europe, Middle East, Africa and India, Corneel Koster joined the festivities in Amsterdam, while Michael Matheson, Scotland’s Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity participated in the celebrations in Edinburgh.
Vice President-Transatlantic, Delta Air Lines, Roberto Ioriatti, said: “These new services continue our mission to connect the world, enabling more people to reach more cities around the globe.
“Amsterdam, Edinburgh and Lisbon are thriving markets for Delta and now even more customers will be able to visit their favorite European destination nonstop from the U.S.,” he continued.
Delta will fly to London, United Kingdom from Boston and New York-JFK next year, with new flights to Gatwick Airport in collaboration with British airline Virgin Atlantic. Delta will serve twelve daily flights to seven European destinations this summer.
Tampa became the second city in Florida after Orlando to serve a Delta flight to Amsterdam. The airline will serve up to 21 daily flights to 11 destinations in the United States from Amsterdam this summer.
“What we are doing today is opening up Tampa Bay not just to Amsterdam, but to the world,” said Delta’s Vice President-Reservations Sales and Customer Care, Tori Forbes-Roberts.
Delta will restart operations to several European cities for the Memorial Day weekend. The destinations include Copenhagen in Denmark, Glasgow in Scotland and the Azores in Portugal from York-JFK, and Reykjavik in Iceland, from Minneapolis, United States.

The airline will also increase its frequencies on certain routes, such as New York-JFK to Israel’s Tel Aviv and Paris in France, Boston and Minneapolis to Amsterdam, and here to Rome in Italy.
Delta will operate a total of up to 92 daily flights from the United States to 31 destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa this summer.
