Austin, US (TAN): United States-based vacation rental company VRBO has introduced a Teddy Bear Service which will help return teddy bears or other items of sentimental value that kids might leave behind in one of the rentals reserved though VRBO’s website or app they were holidaying at.
All a guest has to do is pick up the phone and call 1-774-VRBOTDY or email TeddyBearHotline@vrbo.com to report an item. The company will make sure the item is returned to its owner, VRBO said.
How the service works
VRBO will contact the owner, the property manager, and the next guest who booked the home through VRBO after a report is received. It will then try to find the toy and return it to its home.
“We know how easily teddies can get left behind under beds, in canoes, or in a vacation home’s best hide-and-seek spot. Our goal is to make sure every teddy finds its way back home and to help kids and their families keep happy vacation memories fully intact,” Vrbo travel expert Melanie Fish said.
The company launched the service after a survey revealed children love travelling with their stuffed animals. While 55 per cent of the people surveyed said their kids brought along their teddy bears on trips, 69 per cent of those surveyed said their kid had forgotten to bring their toy back from the vacation.

Parents even resorted to lying and buying to distract the kid from their lost toy. While some people would try to track down the toy with the help of social media, others would put up posters of the teddy bear, the survey showed.
