Air India tweets about emergency landing over bomb threat, deletes it soon after

London (TAN): An Air India flight from Mumbai headed to Newark airport in New Jersey made an emergency landing at Stansted airport in London on Thursday, media reports said.

The cause of the emergency landing is said to be a bomb threat.

Multiple media reports said Air India had tweeted that the AI 191 Mumbai-Newark flight “made a precautionary landing at London Stansted Airport due to bomb threat.”

The tweet, however, was deleted soon after.

A Hindustan Times report said the flight was escorted by two Typhoons of the Royal Air Force as it landed.
