Club Med organises eco-music festival to inspire sustainability

Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan’s islands, is known for its ski areas and volcanoes

Paris (TAN): France-based firm Club Med will organise an eco-music festival in Japan’s Hokkaido to encourage a sustainable way of living through music, art and culture. Club Med is a Chinese-owned company that specialises in all-inclusive vacations.

Named ‘Green Beats’, the festival will be hosted at Club Med Tomamu Hokkaido between September 14 and 16, 2019.

The festival is aimed at bringing together guests to celebrate the beauty of nature, and help grow conscious communities across the region through a range of activities that involve – ‘BEATS, BITES, CARE, and FEEL’, the company said. Workshops organised by local eco organisations will reportedly be part of the experience too.

Guests will be treated to performances from DJs, bands, and musicians from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan, that includes popular bands from Sapporo.

“At Club Med, we are always looking to push the boundaries of travel, aiming to turn a getaway into a transformative experience. Eco-consciousness is a part of that journey and this year we have unveiled Green Beats, along with a series of activities that will drive awareness,” Xavier Desaulles, Chief Executive Officer of Club Med, Asia Pacific was quoted by media reports as saying.

Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan’s islands, is famed for its volcanoes, ski areas and hot springs.
