London (TAN): If you cancelled that trip to the faraway continent you have always yearned to visit just because you could not leave your leafy pals to wither and die back home, somebody has your back now.

‘Plant Patch Hotel’, a hotel meant solely for houseplants has opened in London, which will play host to green friends when their humans are peacefully vacationing in a different city. Conceived by online plant store Patch, it is the world’s first hotel for plants, the company said.

“We all know the crushing disappointment when you return from holiday to find your plant has gone from green lusciousness, to a burnt, dry bunch of twigs. We wanted to open the hotel to give a helping hand to the increasing number of ‘plant parents’,” Chief Executive Officer of Patch, Freddie Blackett was quoted by media reports as saying.

Located in Battersea, the hotel has a team of specialists that will take care of both indoor and outdoor plants upon checking them into one of its 100 rooms. While there is no charge for booking, the hotel also provides complimentary food and drinks.

During their stay, the green guests will be treated to ‘100% organic, vegan plant food’ and a routine hydration spa treatment. They will also get climate-controlled space, whether in the sun or in the shade, according to their requirements.

To book a room through the hotel website, you must enter the dates of arrival and departure, how many plants you want to check in, and whether they are of the indoor or outdoor kind. The website even invites plant parents to share the precise needs and personality of their plants. You can drop off your leafy friends at the hotel once your booking has been confirmed.
