London (TAN): United Kingdom-based train operating company Virgin Trains has introduced digital version of every ticket type so that passengers can purchase their tickets online. Customers can also buy their season tickets online and get them delivered to their mobile devices.

Virgin Trains became ‘the first train operator to offer 100% of its ticket types digitally’, the company said.

“Buying or renewing a season ticket is now so much easier as it can be done anytime, including from your phone. Offering 100% of our tickets digitally is more evidence of our ongoing commitment to innovation and our customer service,” Executive Director, Commercial, Virgin Trains, Sarah Copley, said.

“Digital tickets have many advantages. For example, because they allow us to link up our different systems customers can claim compensation much more quickly if there are delays,” she added.
